Dr. Nowak believes surgery is his last treatment option for the care of orthopedic conditions. Getting the right diagnosis using examination and investigative tools including x-ray, ultrasound, and MRI are the first steps to wellness. A non-operative approach with an emphasis on rehabilitation remain the cornerstone of Nowak Orthopedic care.

Dr. Nowak’s surgical approach stresses a minimally invasive approach. Having performed over 10,000 arthroscopic procedures demonstrates the high level of expertise required for treating extremity injuries. Utilizing the Team approach to patient-centered care involving the Primary Care Physician, specialty Physician, Physical Therapist, and Athletic Trainer ensures a rapid recovery and positive outcome.

Jessica Nichols is the Practice Manager for Nowak Orthopedic Associates. Prior to joining Nowak Orthopedics, she was a Scheduler at Exeter Hospital for Outpatient Diagnostics & Testing. Jess’ longest tenure was at Professional Physical Therapy where she led the administrative team for the New England region overseeing the Authorizations & Benefits Verification department for ten years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, in Recreation Management & Policy with an emphasis on Program Administration and Sport Studies. James Cross is the Clinical Manager for Nowak Orthopedic Associates.  James is a Nationally Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and State of New Hampshire Certified and Registered Medical Technician.  James believes patients and their safety should always come first and he strives to assist Dr. Nowak with the finest in-patient care.  Prior to coming to Nowak Orthopedics, James has 18 years of experience in the medical field across America. 

He has worked at UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, and most recently Massachusetts General Hospital, Salem, MA.  He has experience in Primary Care, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Telemetry, ICU, and Med Surge.

First Visit

  • Wear shorts for lower extremity evaluation and a tank top or loose-fitting shirt for upper extremity evaluations
